Restaurant Busser

Position Summary

The Busser / Runner supports smooth dining room service by assisting with table maintenance, food delivery, guest needs, and overall restaurant cleanliness.

This role requires urgency, attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong awareness of service flow. The Busser / Runner helps ensure guests receive timely service and that the dining room remains clean, organized, and ready for each guest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Dining Room Support

• Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and according to company standards.
• Run food and beverages to guests accurately and efficiently.
• Assist servers with water service, pre-bussing, table maintenance, and guest needs.
• Support smooth service flow during busy periods.
• Communicate guest needs, table status, and service issues to servers and managers.

Cleanliness and Stocking

• Maintain cleanliness of the dining room, service stations, restrooms, and guest-facing areas.
• Restock silverware, glassware, condiments, paper goods, and other service supplies as needed.
• Remove trash, dirty dishes, and used service items promptly.
• Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities as assigned.

Safety and Company Standards

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Handle dishes, glassware, trays, and service equipment safely.
• Work cooperatively with FOH and BOH team members.
• Other areas as required by the unique nature of the restaurant and the position.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong sense of urgency, organization, and teamwork.
• Ability to follow direction and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, dependable, and attentive to guest needs.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, carry trays, and move quickly through guest-facing areas.
• Work performed in a restaurant environment with varying noise levels, guest traffic, and service pace
