Job Description: POSITION TITLE: Adjunct Faculty - Early Childhood Education
DEPARTMENT: School of Business, Industry, and Career Programs
LOCATION: Fall River
REPORTS TO: Dean of Business, Industry, and Career Programs
? POSITION STATUS: MCCC/DCE unit position, non-benefitted. Adjunct Faculty are part time instructors hired on an as needed basis. Courses may be offered as face-to-face sections in Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford, and/or Taunton. Courses may also be offered as online sections. Courses may be held during the day, in the evening, and on weekends (Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays). Please note: Positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment.
STARTING DATE: Academic Year 2026-2027
SALARY: Minimum salary is $1,446 per credit hour. Actual salary is commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. DCE Adjuncts and Part-Time Members (mccc-union.org) STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Adjunct Faculty - Early Childhood Education will be responsible for teaching Early Childhood Education courses. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach Early Childhood Education courses.
- Complete required trainings, such as Title IX and Cybersecurity.
- Adhere to workload as specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to include duties such as completing book orders, creating syllabi, verifying student enrollment, and submitting final grades by the contractual deadline.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community.
- Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.
- Be available to students either virtually or in-person for assistance meeting course requirements and supporting student academic success.
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience working at the supervisor level in the Daycare setting
- Ability to travel to supervise internships within a 50-mile radius of Bristol Community College campuses
- Ability to teach courses in these modalities: in person, hybrid, online synchronous, or online asynchronous, at Bristol Community College campuses.
- Proven technological proficiency.
- The ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
- Doctorate preferred.
- College level teaching experience.
- Evidence of scholarship.
- Experience using High Impact Practices.
- Experience teaching at a community college.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Canvas or any Learning Management System.
- Graduate of Bristol's Adjunct Certificate Program.
- 18 graduate credits in the area of Early Childhood Education
- Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English, preferably Spanish
