Licensed Practical Nurse - Clinic Pediatrics

Location O'Fallon, IL Employment Type Regular employee. Department Pediatrics (O'Fallon – IL Peds) Pay Range Hourly: $20.11 – $32.18. Job Summary Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license. Job Responsibilities Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures the well-being of patients. Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services. Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self‑care post‑discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow‑up care. Documents the provider's encounter with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, discharge/follow‑up instructions and prescriptions. Transcribes patient orders, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications. Completes patient charts by transcribing results of any labs, x‑rays or other evaluations. Continuously checks the progress of data availability for orders to ensure the patient's workup is complete, enabling the provider to make treatment decisions. Transcribes consultations or discussions with family or the patient's private physician or the on‑call physician. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or educational equivalency for licensing. Experience No experience required. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication; constant standing and walking; frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs.; frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry; frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) to identify and distinguish colors; frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors; frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.; occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lbs.; occasional lifting/moving of patients; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements; occasional driving; rare crawling and running. Required Licenses and Certifications State of Work Location: Illinois – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). State of Work Location: Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Nurse Licensure Issued by Compact State. Work Schedule Day Shift (United States of America). Hours Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40.
