Assistant Coach Men's Golf (COACH AST 3)

Job Summary Under the general direction of the head coach for men's golf, responsible for performing assigned coaching duties. Assists the head coach in the conduct of pre‑season, regular season and permissible out‑of‑season practices and training programs. Travels to away meets and teaches those skills that are related to men's golf at the collegiate level of competition. Minimum Qualifications Complete and pass the National Collegiate Athletic Association Recruiting Examination per NCAA bylaw 12.1, 2.2.1 and be CPR/First Aid certified annually. No minimum education required. Collegiate and professional golf experience. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of the rules and techniques of golf, including teaching techniques, coaching strategies and safety measures necessary to compete at the collegiate level. Preferred Qualifications Express ideas clearly, concisely, and logically, both verbally and in writing. Interact effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with highly motivated UC Davis student‑athletes, coaching colleagues, department staff and other persons from diverse backgrounds. Learn the complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student‑athletes, including UC Davis, California Collegiate Athletic Association and National Collegiate Athletic Association policies and procedures.
