Responsibilities Operate a backhoe efficiently and safely to excavate trenches, dig holes, and perform other necessary tasks as required. Fill holes and trenches with concrete or other suitable materials, ensuring proper compaction and leveling. Safely climb utility poles and perform various tasks such as installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead lines and equipment. Operate a bucket truck to access elevated work areas, such as utility poles or equipment. Conduct inspections and routine maintenance on utility equipment and infrastructure. Respond to service calls and troubleshoot issues promptly, ensuring timely resolution. Collaborate with the team to coordinate and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times, ensuring a secure working environment. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of materials used, time spent, and completed tasks. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving concerns, and communicating professionally. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or vocational training preferred. Proven experience operating a backhoe, demonstrating proficiency in excavation and trenching. Proficiency in filling holes with concrete or other materials, ensuring proper compaction and leveling. Ability to safely climb utility poles and work at elevated heights. Experience driving a bucket truck or similar aerial lift equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and customers. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy equipment, bending, stooping, and working in various weather conditions.
