Through our federal litigation practice (LIFT), the Litigation Paralegal will support both large-scale impact litigation and individual federal cases that directly shape the outcomes of our clients’ lives. On the group litigation side, you will help advance cases that challenge unlawful policies and systemic delays affecting a multitude of immigrants from a number of different countries. You will also work closely on individual federal actions including mandamus complaints, requests for injunctive and declaratory relief, and other challenges to agency delay or wrongful action. This work can directly contribute to compelling government accountability and timely adjudications. This is hands-on litigation work where your attention to detail and ability to manage fast-moving federal filings will have a direct impact on real people seeking solutions to their immigration concerns and stability in the United States.

The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, experienced with federal court rules, and can pivot quickly when an emergency filing arises.

Responsibilities

• Federal E-Filing & Monitoring: Manage all electronic filings via CM/ECF across various federal districts and appellate courts. Navigate PACER for docket monitoring, research, and document retrieval.
• Drafting & Legal Writing: Draft core legal documents, including initial pleadings, notices of motion, proposed orders, certificates of service, and supporting declarations or affidavits.
• Brief & Motion Prep: Assist attorneys with the assembly of high-stakes motions for TROs and Preliminary Injunctions. Conduct cite-checking and proofreading, and assemble table of contents/authorities for legal memoranda.
• Evidence & Exhibit Management: Organize and manage voluminous exhibit files, bates-stamping, and indexing for "court-ready" evidence under tight deadlines.
• Case & Calendar Management: Maintain the firm's master litigation calendar, tracking strict federal statutory deadlines, scheduling court appearances, depositions, and client interviews.
• High-Touch Collaboration: Coordinate seamlessly with our internal team—including our Plaintiff Support Specialists—to ensure smooth client onboarding and fact-gathering.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
