Payroll Specialist

Job Description We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Specialist to support our Sacramento-based client, a nationally growing organization offering a fast-paced environment and strong opportunities for long-term career growth. The Payroll Specialist will oversee accurate and timely bi-monthly payroll processing for approximately 500 employees. This position requires hands-on experience managing payroll for 300+ employees, along with proficiency in Paylocity, Paycom, or similar systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and confident working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. - $32-$35 per hour DOE
- Contact to Hire
- 100% onsite in Sacramento, Mon-Fri 8-5
- Process bi-monthly payroll for 500 employees with accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage full-cycle payroll for 300+ employees at minimum.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state payroll regulations.
- Maintain and audit employee payroll records and documentation.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support reporting and data integrity.
- Utilize payroll platform for payroll processing and updates.
- Minimum five years of payroll experience required.
- Experience processing payroll for 300+ employees is required; high-volume experience preferred.
- Multi-state payroll experience strongly desired.
- Proficiency with Paylocity, Paycom, or comparable systems.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Sacramento, Monday-Friday.
