Work where you matter. A Brief Overview The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care for adult specialty units including nephrology, transplant, neurology, extended care, and cardiovascular patients. The RN develops a nursing diagnosis, establishes nursing care objectives, defines nursing interventions, and provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families and friends. The RN notes changing conditions and needs, re‑evaluates care objectives, and uses the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to achieve quality outcomes under guidance and supervision based on leadership and self‑assessment for skill enhancement. The RN provides a high level of clinical nursing care to assigned patients, performing related assessments, procedures and treatments, evaluations, patient care plan development and revisions, and education to patients and/or families. What you will do Assess patients’ conditions based on observation, examination, physician’s diagnosis, laboratory findings, age‑related issues, and other pertinent information. Use professional judgment and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize, and execute patients’ care plans consistent with assessment data and evidence‑based practice. Implement nursing interventions to achieve progress toward expected outcomes or stabilize patients’ conditions and prevent complications. Complete assessments within specified time frames and recognize changes in normal and abnormal parameters. Participate in interdisciplinary patient‑care planning and evaluate patient progression toward safe discharge. Identify and complete educational needs for patients and families and provide consistent education aligned with patients’ understanding. Incorporate physiological, psychological, cultural, developmental, and spiritual needs into the plan of care. Evaluate and document patients’ responses to nursing care and modify treatment plans as needed. Follow facility guidelines and procedures and work closely with the Nurse Manager to meet budgetary, process‑improvement, core‑measure, and patient‑satisfaction initiatives. Direct and delegate support personnel, provide guidance, and intervene when standards of care are not met. Assist in training other nurses and nursing students. Perform complex and routine treatments through physicians’ prescriptions, approved protocols, and nursing assessment. Follow policies and protocols when administering medications, initiating IV fluids, and administering blood products. Maintain and troubleshoot patient‑care equipment and supplies, call for repairs, and ensure resources are stocked.
