The Avera Behavioral Health Adolescent & Child Units are designed to be a structured and age‑appropriate therapeutic environment for adolescents and children to learn to understand problems, use healthy coping skills and set and complete goals. Key Expectations Enjoys working with children ages 5 to 12 years old and adolescents ages 13 to 17 years old as well as their families. Has a passion helping patients with conditions such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Addiction or Suicidal behavior. A Brief Overview The LPN practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. The LPN organizes and directs those aspects of care for which he/she is accountable; communicating and coordinating care with well‑defined nursing diagnoses, including all health team members. What You Will Do Collect data and conduct a focused nursing assessment of the health status of a patient. Participate with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient‑centered health care plan. Implement nursing interventions within a patient‑centered health care plan. Assist in the evaluation of responses to interventions. Provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. Advocate for the best interest of the patient. Communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the health care team. Assist with health counseling and teaching. Delegate and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care.
