Staff Software Engineer / Architect - AI

Salary: $137,100 - 254,700 per year Requirements:

• We bring 7+ years of software engineering experience, with strong depth in system design, distributed systems, scalable architecture, and technical leadership.
• We have hands-on experience building and shipping AI/ML or LLM-driven products in production, including solid knowledge of RAG patterns, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation methods.
• We are highly proficient in Python and modern backend engineering, with experience designing RESTful APIs, asynchronous systems, and event-driven architectures.
• We have experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, plus Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices for secure, scalable releases.
• We understand AI interoperability and agentic systems, including MCP, agent-to-agent workflows, third-party integrations, and tool-augmented architectures.
• We have experience using observability, monitoring, and AI quality tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, LangSmith, Langfuse, Braintrust, or similar platforms.
• We communicate clearly and manage stakeholders well, with the ability to work credibly with engineers, legal professionals, and business leaders in ambiguous, high-impact settings.

• We lead the full lifecycle architecture, design, and delivery of AI-enabled solutions for law firms and corporate legal teams, from idea to production rollout.
• We review and shape system design, architecture, and code from AI Solution Engineers to ensure quality, scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
• We build advanced legal AI systems, including RAG pipelines, multi-agent workflows, event-driven services, and enterprise integrations for use cases such as contract review, litigation support, discovery, and regulatory analysis.
• We champion AI-native engineering practices by weaving AI into development workflows, tooling, delivery processes, and technical standards.
• We put in place observability, evaluation, and trust mechanisms for production AI systems, including monitoring, logging, tracing, model assessment, and quality benchmarking.
• We lead technical discovery with clients and legal stakeholders, turning legal workflows, business objectives, and domain expertise into scalable architectures and solution roadmaps.
• We mentor engineers and collaborate with product, engineering, and legal specialists to strengthen reusable patterns, speed up delivery, and adopt emerging AI capabilities.
