Lead Site Reliability Engineer - Network

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need strong proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices.
• We require fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .Net.
• We value experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows, including incident investigation support and knowledge capture, with careful validation and sensitivity awareness.
• We need the ability to assess AI-assisted operational recommendations for correctness and risk, define guardrails for team usage, and ensure outcomes meet resiliency and security expectations.
• We require proficient knowledge of observability, including white-box and black-box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection.
• We need proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and tooling.
• We require proficiency with container technologies and container orchestration.
• We need experience troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
• We expect advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with growing depth in one or more technical disciplines and a habit of self-education to evaluate and recommend new technologies.
• We prefer extensive experience operating and engineering large-scale networks with strong troubleshooting depth.
• We prefer proven leadership in major incidents, root cause analysis, and long-term fixes that reduce repeat incidents.
• We prefer an advanced automation track record using Python, Shell, and Ansible, with demonstrated toil reduction and reliability gains.
• We prefer a strong applied understanding of SRE concepts, non-functional requirements, and failure or risk analysis methods such as FMEA.
• We prefer a strong ownership mindset, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive delivery independently.

• We model and promote site reliability culture and practices, while documenting and sharing knowledge through internal forums and communities of practice.
• We lead initiatives that improve the reliability and stability of our teams applications and platforms using data-driven analysis to raise service levels and remove technology bottlenecks.
• We work with our team to define service level indicators and collaborate with stakeholder partners to set service level objectives and error budgets.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in our work environment to accelerate major-incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis, while validating outputs and handling operational data securely.
• We serve as the primary contact during major incidents for our application and resolve issues quickly to prevent financial impact to the business.
• We provide deep technical expertise across one or more domains and mentor other engineers.
• We own reliability for mission-critical network services, including availability, performance, and recoverability, while leading major incident response and post-incident learning.
• We own problem management end to end by authoring or approving RCAs, identifying systemic root causes, and delivering durable remediation to prevent repeat incidents.
• We design and deliver automation using Python, Shell, and Ansible, including self-healing where appropriate, automated remediation with guardrails, validation pipelines, and standardized tooling to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• We provide technical leadership across SD-WAN, SDA, SDN, routing and switching, and network security or traffic services such as firewalls, load balancers, and proxies, while partnering with platform teams on observability and embedding SRE practices.
• We lead reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across SDLC and toolchain practices, including CI/CD quality checks, test and validation automation, and operational readiness, while ensuring traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
