Responsibilities include processing, reconciling, and safeguarding university funds in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role performs technical accounting and cashiering functions such as parking and payroll support, posting and balancing transactions, preparing bank deposits, supporting parking permit sales and parking machine collections, and conducting audits of satellite cashiering operations. Systems used include PeopleSoft Student Administration, Illumia (Transact‑CASHNet), T2 Parking, and OTRS. The technician provides responsive customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus departments by analyzing student accounts, processing payments and deposits, and assisting with payment agreements while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient service delivery. Key Responsibilities Provide cashiering operations support including balancing, reconciliation activities, posting payments, and preparing deposits using Illumia, PeopleSoft Student Financials, and the T2 parking system. Deliver in‑person and phone customer service, answering broad inquiries, analyzing student accounts, and processing transactions with a commitment to integrity and quality. Assist with uncleared collection reconciliation, cashiering system updates, and testing of system interfaces with the student information system. Department & Time Base Student Accounting Services | Time Base: 1.0 (40 hours per week) Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the end date. Classification Accounting Technician II Compensation Hiring Rate: $4,037 (Step 1) per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,037 (Step 1) – $5,881 (Step 20) per month. Education and Experience Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record‑keeping experience required. Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred. Physical Summary Medium work: job involves lifting heavy objects (20‑40 pounds) and/or 20%‑40% of the time standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling within weight limits.
