Diesel Truck Mechanic - Austin

Position OverviewThe Mechanic I position reports directly to the Fleet Director, and is responsible for ensuring all company equipment and machinery is operating correctly and is functioning in a safe capacity, as per Company guidelines and DOT compliance.The primary job functions include, but are not limited to:Perform all preventative maintenance procedures so equipment functions properlyPerform pre trip and post trip adjustments on vehicles as per driver DVIR or work orderAble to perform the following procedures on company equipment:Brake adjustments and replacementsClutch workPump replacementsElectrical workAll major and minor repairs on gas or diesel enginesSchedule tire repair and replacementOil changes and regular maintenanceAble to order needed parts and pick them upAbility to troubleshoot faulty equipmentPerform service calls when neededMay travel to various Company locations to perform regular maintenance and repairsOther tasks as assigned by managementThe primary skill requirements include, but are not limited to:Attitude that supports the Company’s goals and valuesMust maintain regular and prompt attendanceMust have ability to troubleshoot problems than may arise with equipment and vehiclesAbility to work in a fast paced environmentSound decision making skillsMust possess good communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow both written and oral directionsAbility to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screeningAbility to pass background checkAbility to lift and carry 60 lbs.Experience RequirementsOne (1) year prior experience as a MechanicEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)#AOF123 #J-18808-Ljbffr
