APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

Purpose Of Position The primary purpose of the Applications Administrator is to participate in the overall design, implementation, and ongoing management of applications and services that support the business needs. Work with business and technical organizations to define and implement solutions to improve current and future business plans and objectives. Provide support services to internal and external customers for complex, technical, and configuration issues related to production applications. Manage the effective use of existing applications and evaluate business and end‑user needs to ensure alignment with the overall organizational strategy. Responsibilities & Expectations Ensure applications meet business requirements and system goals, fulfill end‑user requirements, and identify and help resolve system issues. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Serve as subject‑matter expert in the front and back end of all applications. Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency and then develop strategies for improvement or leveraging. Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in testing new software programs and applications. Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise. Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment to determine intended functionality, contribute to the pre‑testing phase, and identify potential problem areas. Ensure new software integration meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications. Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users. Act as liaison between the business and IT. Continuously review, recommend, and implement improvement steps as needed or directed. Seek supervisory guidance or approval as appropriate. Portray a professional image: follow dress code, communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner, including appropriate grammar. Promote and demonstrate professional standards to enhance department development. Practice ethical conduct. Meet acceptable attendance and punctuality expectations (excluding FMLA). Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related area preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Experience: Four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with substantial experience in Information Systems, preferably in an insurance setting. Working Conditions Office environment with moderate noise level. Frequent sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, and long periods working at a computer. Occasional walking, standing, twisting/turning, and reaching upward or forward during the workday.
