Assistant Program Manager - Day Support Program

Job Summary Serve in an assistant capacity to the Program Manager, and act in their absence. Assist in the development and implementation of services, supports, and programming for persons served, ensuring active engagement and a safe environment. Responsibilities Perform Program Manager duties in their absence, ensuring daily operations run smoothly. Maintain communication with management and staff on site issues and concerns. Support individuals served according to their desires and choices, and provide necessary support to staff. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements (Medicaid, Licensing, CARF, etc.) related to participant records, plans, and documentation. Assist with development, completion, and review of all participant evaluations, assessments, person‑centered plans, progress reports, daily notes, data collection, and other documentation. Provide support and training to staff to ensure accurate documentation and maintain proper staff‑to‑participant ratios. Encourage active engagement in community‑based and program‑location activities (community integration, personal care, mobility, behavior intervention, medication, training, communication, coordination of schedules, supervision of participant activities). Promote a safe, clean, and orderly environment and report unsafe conditions immediately. Demonstrate proper behavior‑support techniques following written protocols and procedures. Notify the Program Manager, Nurse, or other relevant personnel of any medical concerns, APS allegations, and injuries. Establish and maintain communication with family members, authorized representatives, guardians, residential providers, and support coordinators regarding participant progress, scheduling, and incidents. Participate in department and staff meetings, and perform quality‑assurance reviews of data and reports. Maintain up‑to‑date participant information and complete documentation in compliance with standard operating procedures. Stay current with annual trainings and regulatory standards. Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED). Three to five years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience with adults with developmental disabilities and physical ability to assist with toileting, mobility, and transfers. Knowledge of behavior‑support principles and practices. Strong judgment, decision‑making, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization. Well organized, self‑directed team player. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Physical Demands The role requires frequent sitting, reaching, and talking. Occasionally walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and moving up to 150 pounds with two people. Requires good visual acuity and ability to adjust focus.
