Accounting Project Consultant

Job Description Accounting Project Consultant Location: Richmond, VA Employment Type: Contract Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday Pay Rate: $60 to $80 per hour Contract Length: To be determined Our recruiting firm is partnering with a client in Richmond, VA to identify an experienced Accounting Project Consultant for an urgent contract need. This individual will support a temporary accounting project focused on reviewing historical sales transactions, cash register activity, POS reporting, and related accounting records. The ideal candidate has strong accounting and analytical experience and is comfortable working with large amounts of transaction level data. This person will work closely with the Accounting Manager to identify discrepancies, research variances, and help ensure sales and tax reporting is accurate. Experience with Toast POS is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Review cash register and POS transactions for accuracy and consistency Analyze Toast POS reports and related accounting records Compare sales, payment, and tax information to identify discrepancies Research unusual transactions, variances, and reporting inconsistencies Assist with analysis of sales tax information and reporting Organize and reconcile data from multiple sources Prepare spreadsheets and reports summarizing findings Partner closely with the Accounting Manager to investigate and document potential issues Maintain confidentiality when handling financial and business information Perform additional accounting and administrative duties related to the project as needed Qualifications Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, cash management, or a similar role Experience working with POS systems Toast POS experience strongly preferred Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills Comfortable working with large amounts of data Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to identify discrepancies and trace transactions back to their source Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager Restaurant, retail, hospitality, or food service accounting experience is a plus This is a temporary project with the potential for additional work depending on the needs of the client. #J-18808-Ljbffr Qualified Staffing
