- Requirements Gathering:
- Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand objectives, capture functional and non-functional requirements, and translate them into detailed data specifications.
- Data Analysis Expertise:
- Strong analytical mindset with experience exploring datasets, identifying trends, validating data accuracy, detecting anomalies.
- Data Mapping & Documentation:
- Experience creating source to target data mappings, identifying transformation logic, documenting business rules, and ensuring accurate flow of data across systems.
- Data Model Interpretation:
- Ability to read, interpret, and navigate conceptual, logical, and physical data models (ERDs, relational schemas, star/snowflake models). Understands table relationships, primary/foreign keys, cardinality, and normalization concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data across relational databases.
- Understanding of data structures, relational models, and metadata.
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform data profiling and quality checks.
- Basic knowledge of ETL concepts, data pipelines, and data integration workflows.
- Experience with Excel for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Strong communication skills to translate business needs into data requirements.
- Detail oriented with strong documentation discipline.
- Ability to collaborate with business, data engineering, and product teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with structured, logical thinking.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
