Associate Attorney

A well-established Northern California law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing practice representing employers in a wide range of employment law matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who enjoys litigation, client interaction, and working alongside experienced employment defense attorneys.

About the Opportunity

The firm represents businesses of all sizes in employment and business-related litigation matters. Attorneys work closely with clients, insurance carriers, and colleagues on sophisticated employment disputes within a collaborative team environment.

The practice includes defense of claims involving:

• Employment discrimination
• Harassment
• Retaliation
• Wrongful termination
• Wage and hour disputes
• Employee classification issues
• Other workplace-related litigation matters

Responsibilities

• Manage employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
• Communicate directly with clients and insurance carriers
• Assist with trial preparation and strategy development
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the California State Bar
• 2+ years of litigation experience preferred
• Employment litigation experience strongly preferred
• Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Strong organizational and case management abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
• Outstanding interpersonal and client communication skills
