Grade This position offers a salary range of $44.66 - $48.34/hour, with potential for advancement up to $70.42/hour based on qualifications, equity, and hiring guidelines. Initial salary offers are determined by qualifications, experience, and available budget, and typically do not exceed $48.34/hour. Location of Position 7800 Harkins Rd, Lanham, MD 20706. Position Duties The Division of Finance and Administration is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as the Fund Analyst. The Fund Analyst will be in charge of the servicing of a $187 million portfolio of venture capital programs, loan participation programs, loan guarantee programs, collateral support programs, and capital access programs provided by the Small Business Credit Initiative. The position must coordinate data from many units in the Department requiring an understanding of multiple technical areas including accounting, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, capital markets, mortgage products and execution methodologies, underwriting, asset management, grant/loan agreements and required stated and federal reporting, debt management, compliance to State and Federal regulations and loan servicing. Minimum Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Four years of professional financial analysis experience, such as managing financial asset and debt portfolios, examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting, budget, grant or real estate investment portfolio records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles. Notes:

1. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or documented eligibility to sit for the CPA Examination may be substituted for the educational requirement.
2. A Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute one year of professional financial analysis experience, such as managing financial asset and debt portfolios, examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting, budget, grant or real estate investment portfolio records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles for 30 credits on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Accounting Officer classification or Financial Management specialty codes in the accounting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. Benefits Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium of these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period.
