Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients from children to seniors, utilizing both standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
• Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate and long-term communication goals as well as swallowing needs.
• Engage in hands-on, one-on-one therapy targeting fluency, language, voice, and swallowing challenges.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers to establish unified care strategies.
• Provide educational resources and guidance to patients and their families to enhance progress outside treatment sessions.
• Support inpatient therapy requirements as necessary, ensuring a seamless continuum of care from admission to discharge.
• Diligently document patient progress and treatment activities to adhere to state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Stay on the cutting edge of the profession through ongoing education and collaborative discussions with peers.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
