Truck and Van Equipment Installation Technician

About the Role:

US Workvan Inc is looking for a skilled and motivated Commercial Equipment Installer to join our team in Lansing, MI. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in outfitting commercial vehicles with professional-grade equipment and upfits. If you take pride in quality craftsmanship and enjoy working with your hands, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

Install commercial equipment, shelving, storage systems, and accessories into work vans and fleet vehicles
Read and interpret work orders, schematics, and installation instructions to complete upfit projects
Perform electrical wiring, mounting, and fabrication tasks as required for vehicle upfits
Inspect completed installations for quality, safety, and functionality before delivery
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and customer expectations
Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues efficiently and professionally

Requirements:

Prior experience in vehicle upfitting, equipment installation, or a related trade preferred
Basic electrical knowledge and experience with 12V vehicle electrical systems a plus
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Ability to read work orders, diagrams, and installation manuals
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Valid driver's license required; ability to drive vans and light commercial vehicles
