What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional Lead , you will:

• Provide direct support and assistance with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and community participation.
• Support implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP), Behavior Support Plans (BSP), and skill development programs.
• Promote independence, dignity, self-determination, and community integration.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate medication documentation.
• Provide transportation to appointments, employment sites, recreational activities, and other community destinations.
• Utilize trauma-informed care practices and behavioral support strategies.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations and emergency events.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely in accordance with licensing and agency standards.
• Mentor, coach, and train Direct Support Professionals on best practices and program expectations.
• Assist with onboarding and development of new staff members.
• Monitor compliance with agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with medication audits, safety inspections, fire drills, and quality assurance activities.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and service excellence.
• Collaborate with Residential Managers to support efficient residential operations and quality outcomes.

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, behavioral health conditions, or mental illness
• Minimum age of 21 years old
• Valid non-provisional driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet agency and regulatory background screening requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, email, electronic documentation systems, and timekeeping software
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Successful completion of required certifications and trainings

Preferred

• Supervisory, leadership, mentoring, or training experience
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
• Experience implementing behavior support plans
• Experience in residential or community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible scheduling required
• May include evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays
• Emergency and on-call coverage may be required
• Schedule subject to change based on business needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday
• Ability to assist individuals with mobility, personal care, and daily living activities
• Ability to safely transport individuals in agency vehicles
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move 50+ pounds when necessary
• Ability to support emergency response and crisis intervention activities
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
