Admissions Assistant

Southwestern Law School seeks an assistant to join the admissions team. The Admissions Assistant will be a member of a dynamic group of dedicated higher education professionals who are responsible for Southwesterns Juris Doctorate programs. The Admissions Assistant should be capable of working with minimal supervision and able to coordinate and manage multiple assignments and projects successfully. This is an in-person position with some remote work available. The Admissions Assistant will report to the Associate Dean of Admissions and is non-exempt.

Key responsibilities:

• Office reception including answering phones, greeting students, faculty, staff and visitors.
• Answering high volume of emails regarding general Admissions questions.
• Data entry, processing applications (as needed) and report generation.
• Preparing and managing shipments of recruitment materials to events.
• Generating files and maintaining the organization of the file and work rooms.
• Document preparation including word processing and proofreading
• Participation during on-campus events for prospective students
• Managing work study students daily tasks and providing training, as necessary
• Monitors Admissions Office phone lines, responds to inquiries, and, if needed, relays callers to the appropriate office staff member or other department.
• Assists in scheduling appointments for campus tours, counseling sessions, and scholarship and waiting list interviews.
• Conducts campus tours.
• Assists with special projects as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelors degree with two years experience in higher education admissions, administrative services, or student services; however, combined work experience/education may be substituted.
• Exceptional interpersonal, service, and verbal/written communication skills; ability to promote professional office environment and provide exceptional applicant-centered assistance; good judgment; strong organizational and planning abilities; ability to work with a diverse group of people; and proficiency in computer programs (MS Word, Excel), desktop publishing, e-mail and internet usage.

Salary: $23.08/hour
