File and Records Clerk

: Job Summary:
The incumbent will ensure all court files are maintained that court documents are in file folders securely after they have been scanned in and placed in the appropriate file cabinet. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining background check records.
Job Duties:Once documents are filed with the court clerk, the incumbent will scan the document into the case management system. File folders will be prepared for placing the documents in. Files will be maintained by placing them in the appropriate file cabinet. Files are pulled in preparation for the clerk's dockets. The incumbent will perform background checks at the request of other agencies by checking for names in the court system. A record of documents found will be maintained by the incumbent. The incumbent will answer phones and provide general information. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); no exceptions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least one (1) year of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Database software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
