Shipping AssociateWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Associate to manage incoming and outgoing merchandise in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. In this role, you will prepare and process shipments, maintain accurate shipping records, and ensure the efficient operation of shipping systems while handling both standard and hazardous materials for domestic and international transport.ResponsibilitiesPrepare, package, and process outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with shipping requirements.Receive incoming merchandise, verify contents against documentation, and accurately record all received materials.Manage shipping and receiving activities using MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications to maintain up-to-date records and documentation.Handle material movement within the warehouse using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.Coordinate shipments via major carriers such as UPS and FedEx, including use of FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip systems.Process hazardous materials (hazmat) shipments in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.Complete and file Dangerous Goods Shipper's Declarations (DGS) and Shipper's Letters of Instruction (SLI) accurately for hazmat shipments.Arrange and manage shipments via air and ocean, ensuring proper documentation and carrier requirements are met.Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring products are handled carefully to prevent damage.Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas, including proper labeling, storage, and documentation of materials.Communicate effectively with internal teams and external carriers to resolve shipping issues and coordinate logistics.Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating warehouse machinery and handling hazardous materials.Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and handling packages for extended periods, up to 10 hours a day.Essential SkillsHands-on experience in shipping and receiving operations.Proficiency in packaging and material handling for a warehouse or manufacturing environment.Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts safely and efficiently.Experience using UPS and FedEx shipping platforms, including FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip.Demonstrated experience with MRP systems for tracking and managing inventory and shipments.Knowledge and practical experience in shipping hazardous materials (hazmat) in compliance with regulations.Experience preparing and filing Dangerous Goods Shipper's Declarations (DGS) and Shipper's Letters of Instruction (SLI) for hazmat shipments.Ability to coordinate shipments via air and ocean freight with appropriate documentation.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external carriers.Physical ability to handle packages and move products for up to 10 hours per day.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.Associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.Experience working in a manufacturing environment.Familiarity with chemical handling and shipping requirements.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.Commitment to following safety procedures, especially when handling hazardous materials and operating machinery.Why Work Here?You will join a stable organization that offers a comprehensive benefits package and supports long-term financial and personal well-being.
