Location and Employment Avera McKennan Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: $27.75 - $41.25 (actual pay dependent on experience) Position Highlights Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm; 24hrs/2wks Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing objectives; defining interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changes and re‑evaluating. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan, and coordinating with the health‑care team. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, and conferring with families. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient‑care goals and instructing patients, families, and friends. Evaluate patient care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, and modifying the plan. Maintain a safe and secure patient‑care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication protocols, and regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, and arranging repairs. Maintain supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, and expediting orders. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work specified hours and perform essential job functions, including visual acuity, effective communication, hearing, and understanding speech. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing, active license in state of practice upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years experience working in a clinical environment.
