Description

Proof of the Pudding has spent the past four decades providing innovative menus, services, design expertise and event experiences to clients in Sports & Entertainment. We are partnered with the Phillies providing elevated food service in the Press/Media area and Executive Dining location. We are seeking additional stewards to join our team. Stewards are responsible for washing dishes, kitchen sanitation and safety, equipment organization and upkeep, and following directions form the Executive Chef and Culinary Leads.

This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic events and service operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
• Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
• Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
• Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
• Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by Ecolab.
• Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
• Help deliver food to suites on gamedays.
• Pre bussing and assist in the cleanup of suite areas and kitchen/pantries.
• Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
• Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
• Assist with maintaining and organizing China and warehouse.
• Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
• Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
• ServSafe Certified preferred.

• Planning and multi-tasking
• Self-motivated with a high energy level
• Flexibility to work events, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Must be a phenomenal team player.

Work Environment

This position will be working with dish machinery, hot water and chemicals. This position will move across wet, slippery, and changing terrain.

Uniform Requirements

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.

Non-slip shoes are required.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces. Traveling throughout the event space in different terrains.
• Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
• Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to lifting up-to 30 pounds at times.
• Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
• Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
