Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for night shifts. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, assessing their needs, and implementing effective nursing interventions in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial age-appropriate nursing assessments and ongoing reassessments.
• Develop and implement plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Execute nursing actions to achieve patient goals and communicate care activities to the healthcare team.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with established hospital policies and standards.
• Administer medications correctly and evaluate patient responses to medications.
• Conduct patient and family education and ensure understanding of discharge plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in disaster preparedness planning and drills.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in Maine or compact.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Immunizations required: Varicella, Hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, and PPD.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and effective communication skills.
