Professional Staff Nurse - 12 x 3 Rotating Shift

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and an integral member of the care delivery team. This position involves setting standards for the level and quality of care and maintaining responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, applying independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively engage in department-specific quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to enhance clinical care and influence patient care plans.
• Apply the nursing process within the Relationship Based Care framework to develop holistic patient care goals.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, effectively communicating patients' conditions and recommendations for care adjustments.
• Document comprehensively to ensure effective communication among caregivers.
• Build caring, compassionate relationships to create a healing experience for patients and their families.
• Collaborate as a full partner with the care team, supporting colleagues and responding to team needs.
• Teach patients and families using adult learning principles, promoting understanding of care processes and transitions.
• Foster open dialogue, solicit feedback, and embrace continuous development in practice.
• Demonstrate accountability for actions and promote healthy relationships across diverse cultures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Clearances per Pennsylvania Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73 are necessary.

Schedule

This is a 12 x 3 rotating shift position, working 3 days per week.
