System Safety EngineerThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated System Safety Engineer to join us on the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) System Safety team in Tewksbury, MA.As a Systems Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.Your responsibilities will include:Performing System Safety Program or Design analysesWorking with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs, including:Monitoring program technical executionInterfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer ApprovalBriefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval processInterpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standardsPreparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety programCollaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and designThis position is posted as ONSITE and will be based at Raytheon’s Tewksbury, MA location.Qualifications you must have: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 2 years of relevant engineering or statistics or data analysis experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.Experience with: System Safety Engineering, System Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, or equivalent Safety EngineeringThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.The salary range for this role is $66,000 - $130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
