Job Details Location: New York, NY Position: IT Specialist II Job ID: 63694 Job Category: Information Technology Position Type: Full Time Remaining Positions: 1 Position Overview The IT Support Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide proximity IT support for the manufacturing infrastructure and operations, including computer hardware, software, applications, network printers, scanners, and other manufacturing‑related technologies. The position will also deliver incident, problem, and change management to facilitate IT initiatives within the location. Key Accountabilities Local technical support (25%) – Provide assistance for all computer hardware (laptops, printers, RFID antennas, telephones, scanners, etc.) and act as the onsite single point of contact for internal client technical issues, collaborating with internal and external IT teams and vendors. Dedicated support for design and engineering environments, emphasizing AutoCAD, Mastercam, and other CAD/CAM and engineering applications. Installation & configuration (25%) – Install and configure workstations, software, and systems as directed by the Information Technology division, following SOPs and knowledge documentation to ensure consistent solution delivery. Assist internal and external IT teams with projects and support deliverables specific to the location. IT Service management (25%) – Perform IT service management using ServiceNow to track, update, and resolve incidents and requests for local operations, ensuring adherence to documented processes and policies. Communicate escalations to management and external IT teams. Training & knowledge transfer (20%) – Provide training and knowledge transfer to operational staff, creating site‑specific documentation such as Knowledge Articles and SOPs. Monitoring & maintenance (5%) – Monitor health and track maintenance of local IT systems, including servers, network, telephony, and other critical systems and processes, while maintaining site‑specific IT inventory. Technical Skills and Knowledge Strong knowledge of end‑user hardware and peripherals, including laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, networked devices, RFID equipment, telephony, and other manufacturing‑related technologies. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting workstations, standard enterprise software, and network‑connected devices and peripherals. Working knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for incident, request, problem, and change management, and accurate ticket documentation. Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, connectivity troubleshooting, and server, network, and telephony system health monitoring from a site‑support perspective. Experience with IT asset and inventory management, including tracking and maintaining site‑specific equipment. Documentation, Training, and Communication Ability to follow and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge documentation. Experience creating and maintaining knowledge articles, site‑specific SOPs, and user‑facing technical documentation and guides. Ability to provide effective training and knowledge transfer to manufacturing and operational staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
