Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Rifle, CO. This onsite contract opportunity runs from August through early June, offering the chance to work closely with students requiring mild to moderate support. Two full-time openings are available: one supporting grades 6–8, and another working with grades 9–12, both serving caseloads of approximately 25 to 30 students.

Qualified candidates will bring a compassionate approach and a collaborative spirit to the classroom. You'll work in a supportive environment focused on helping every student achieve their personal and educational goals.

Qualifications:

• Current Colorado Teaching License
• Special Education (SPED) Endorsement required
• Previous experience working with middle or high school students preferred
• Comfortable supporting students with mild to moderate needs
• Willingness to assist with toileting and/or personal care as needed
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
• Provide direct instruction and collaborate with general education teachers to deliver accommodations and modifications
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regular updates to families and staff
• Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth within the school environment
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and learning
