Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher working with middle or high school students in a supportive, collaborative school environment near Silt, Colorado. Full-time contract positions are available, starting August 17, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with a choice of grade levels and caseloads for educators passionate about supporting students with mild to moderate needs.
Open Positions:
- Grades 6–8: Approximately 25–30 students, mild/moderate needs
- Grades 9–12: Approximately 25–30 students, mild/moderate needs
Key qualifications:
- Current Colorado Teaching License
- Valid Special Education (SPED) Endorsement
- Experience or confidence in supporting students demonstrating mild/moderate behaviors
- Willingness to assist students with toileting if necessary
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- Demonstrated commitment to individualized student growth and inclusion
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement tailored IEPs for students
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, staff, and families
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular updates and reports
- Ensure a safe and accessible setting for all students, assisting with personal care as needed
