Provides detailed information to communicate design to customers, Haynes Mechanical field installation team and subcontractors.Serves as the technical resource for Controls Technician 1. Controls Technician II will also be required to perform functions of preventive maintenance agreements and participate in our on-call rotation.Requirements:Minimum of 5 years HVAC Controls database integrations and sub-system experienceNiagara certified with 5+ years of related experience (additional certifications helpful)Strong working experience and knowledge of general construction industry with a focus on HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTU's, AHU's, and VAV's) and building automation controlMust understand controls strategies and have the ability to configure and commission building automation controls based on design and company standardsMust understand communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, and Lon) with the ability to troubleshoot said protocolsStrong understanding of control circuitry and wiring diagramsStrong understanding and troubleshooting inputs/outputs, networks, and communication on end devicesExperience with computer-aided design; strong PC skills requiredAbility to communicate technical material to a non-technical audienceMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving recordEssential Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:Accountable to Team Leader and field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs; participates in engineering release meeting with project field teamResponsible for total system point to point operation and commissioningTroubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.Controls Technician II will be required to work with multiple control devices and/or third-party devices into NiagaraPerforms static (standalone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) software programming independently with support from Team LeadAbility to configure customer operator workstations and all required software (Such as integration device data, trends, history, alarms, and graphics)Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop computerReviews customers' systems and point out other areas of improvement and keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issuesComplete all required commissioning documentation and provides accurate information for as-builts documentationPerforms site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system and assists with turnover to serviceConducts self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve technical proficiency (software/hardware) in company's product linesCommunicates with Haynes Mechanical System's Team Lead, Supervisors, Project Manager, and/or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site on progressCommunicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub-contractors as requiredAdheres to safety standards and has a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.Other job duties may be assigned that are not set forth in the job description.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Able to lift 75 lbs from floor to waist with possible repetitionAble to lift 50 lbs from shoulder to overheadAble to work with both arms above head for minimum of 5 minutesAble to carry 50 lbs for a distance of 25 feetAble to push or pull 125 for a distance of 150 feetAble to climb stairs and laddersAble to carry 30 lbs while climbing stairs or a ladderOwning and operating hand tools – such as multi-meters, basic hand tools, power tools, and label makers, specialty tools will be provided at the discretion of the company.Able to grip and operate hand tools, powers tools and safety equipment, such as chain fallsAble to lift legs and step over obstacles up to 19 inches above the groundAble to perform work while in varying physical positions, such as lying on side, in a kneeling position, while standing on a ladderAble to access rooftop units and work at heights and in some cases tight or enclosed spacesAble to wear a respirator if conditions require; may have exposure to potentially harmful chemicals or materialsAble to crawl for a distance of 25 feetAble to stoop, squat or kneel for up to 10 minutes at a timeVision: Correctable to 20/20 with no color blindnessHearing: Correctable to normal rangeCompensation: $40-$50/hour starting pay | $50-$65/hour with 10+ years experienceHaynes Mechanical is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic work environment.
