Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with Application DBA expertise to design, build, optimize, and support enterprise data platforms. This role combines advanced data engineering with hands-on database administration, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of critical data systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data warehousing, ETL development, Oracle database administration, and modern cloud data platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and tune Oracle databases supporting critical applications.
• Manage database performance through query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution plan analysis.
• Perform database maintenance activities including backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity across database environments.
• Support application teams with database design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Develop and maintain dimensional and normalized data models for analytics and reporting.
• Build and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions across Oracle and Snowflake platforms.
• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Informatica and Python.
• Ensure efficient ingestion, transformation, and integration of structured and unstructured data.
• Support and enhance Oracle Analytics Server reporting environments.
• Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy, usability, and reporting performance.
• Develop and maintain solutions within Snowflake cloud data warehouse environments.
• Implement cloud data architecture, performance optimization, and cost-management best practices.
• Work with NoSQL technologies, including MongoDB, for semi-structured and unstructured data use cases.
• Develop efficient, reusable, and scalable solutions using Python and SQL.
• Automate data workflows, monitoring, and alerting processes.
• Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines and database deployments.
• Implement data validation, cleansing, and lineage tracking processes.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance with organizational data governance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering and database administration.
• Strong Oracle Database expertise with Application DBA experience.
• Strong experience with Informatica and ETL development.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Oracle Analytics Server for reporting and integration.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Advanced SQL skills, including querying and database performance tuning.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance development and operational DBA responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as dbt and Airflow.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting high-volume transactional systems and OLTP environments.
• Exposure to data governance and security frameworks.
