Responsibilities Provide oversight to the physical therapy team under general supervision and established policies and procedures. Assist department leadership in day-to-day operations and problem resolution. Coordinate staff work schedules and patient care assignments to ensure timely service delivery. Follow, clarify, and enforce department policies and procedures for efficient provision of physical therapy services. Assume supervisory responsibility in the absence of department leadership. Participate in the selection and evaluation of physical therapy personnel. Coordinate and participate in department performance improvement activities. Serve as a clinical resource to the physical therapy team and assist staff with resolving complex cases and/or problems. Participate in setting and implementing goals for the physical therapy team. Mentor staff for professional growth and development. Provide in-service education and orientation programs. Oversee, instruct, and evaluate staff in the application of physical therapy principles, modalities, and techniques. Assist with volunteer program, as needed. Serve as a role model for customer service. Assist in marketing physical therapy services to patients, families, and other health care professionals in the community. Serve as a clinical resource for community-based agencies, institutions, and universities. Assist management in department functions and special projects such as utilization review, quality assurance, program development, and committee work. Conduct studies and research projects as requested. Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Physical Therapist, as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or a certification in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical area to acquire leadership skills and specialized patient treatment skills. Leadership experience is strongly preferred. Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
