What We Need The TTWN DC hub is seeking a skilled broadcaster to keep our listeners abreast of traffic and weather in the local area. The ideal candidate will be available to work regular weekend and holiday hours and be able to provide weekday fill‑in help as available. What You’ll Do Provide timely and useful information to commuters planning their drives Announce the latest accidents and traffic delays Read traffic reports, commercials and public service messages to listeners Gather information from a variety of in‑take sources; canvass local, state and national traffic news to determine significance Identify, research and create copy regarding traffic and weather to feature during on‑air shift; edit content using digital audio editing software Manage information; keeping the facts straight and ensure that details are accurate Keep website up to date Prepare written content, visual images, audio and video footage for websites, blogs or other social media platforms Require flexibility in work schedule, including regular weekend and holiday hours as well as weekday fill‑in shifts as available What You’ll Need Demonstrated strong experience in Microsoft Office application, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint Knowledge of the local coverage area geography and roadways, mass transit and traffic patterns Pleasant, charismatic and well‑controlled voice; excellent pronunciation Adept at working in a fast‑paced, deadline oriented, “newsroom‑like” collaborative environment Excellent writing and editing skills; excellent grammar Strong attention to details, following up until issues are resolved Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi‑task in a fast paced environment Understanding of police scanners is a plus Previous broadcast experience What You’ll Bring Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return Ability to work within prescribed guidelines without needing close supervision Problem solving skills within established procedures Understanding of when to seek guidance for unforeseen problems Close attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to act in a professional manner and collaborate with colleagues of different levels Compensation Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications, and alignment with market data. $17.65 - $20.55 Location Rockville, MD: 1801 Rockville Pike, 4th Floor, 20852 Position Type Regular Time Type Part time Pay Type Hourly Benefits iHeartMedia’s benefits offering is flexible and offers a variety of choices to meet the diverse needs of our changing workforce, including the following: Employer sponsored medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage options (employees meeting ACA measurement) A 401K plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost – services include telephonic counseling sessions, consultation on legal and financial matters, emotional well‑being, family and caregiving A range of additional voluntary programs, such as spending accounts, student loan refinancing, accident insurance and more!
