Radiologic Technologist

Overview Manchester Memorial Hospital, part of Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team dedicated to compassionate, community-focused care. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic procedures while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, and clear communication. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff, you will verify provider orders, prepare patients for exams, position patients accurately, and operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to established protocols. You will follow ALARA principles, apply proper radiation protection for patients, self, and staff, and ensure all exams are properly labeled and documented in the electronic health record and PACS. The Radiologic Technologist will assess patient condition, adapt techniques for patients with limited mobility, pain, or special needs, and provide clear instructions to reduce anxiety and improve image quality. You will maintain and troubleshoot radiographic equipment, report malfunctions promptly, and support department workflow by prioritizing cases, assisting with patient transport as needed, and responding to urgent or stat imaging requests. This position also includes maintaining accurate records, verifying patient identity, adhering to infection prevention and safety policies, and participating in quality assurance, continuing education, and competency assessments.
