Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician

Due to our volumes we can't keep a CST busy 100% of the time with cardiac or vascular cases. We are looking for techs that can do other specialties when they are not in the CVOR; ortho, general, ENT, urology etc. Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract. Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.

Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS

Common Cases: CABG, Vascular, Lungs

Experience or 'Must have' skills: Handing open heart procedures, working in a general OR

Is scrubbing required for RNs? No

Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? A Manager and Charge daily, no room assignment

OR techs? Yes

EMR Epic

Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 8s or 10s beginning at 0700 M-F, same schedule week to week. Call is somewhat self-scheduled

Weeknight/Call Requirements: Yes, 10-15 total days per month on call, combination of nights and weekends

Weekend/Call Requirements: Yes

Holiday/Call Requirements Yes as needed

What is call response time? 15 minutes

Floating Requirements: No- will work general OR when not doing CV cases

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs provided

How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? One week

Additional Notes: Will work on CVOR team embedded in the general OR. When not doing cardiovascular cases will do general, ortho, urology and ENT cases
