Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center: Basic Sciences Division Location Seattle, WA Open Date Sep 15, 2026 Description The Basic Sciences Division of Fred Hutch Cancer Center seeks a visionary scientific leader to accelerate discoveries in fundamental biology that can transform our understanding of normal cellular function and the disruptions that underlie cancer and other diseases. This Basic Sciences Division position will be for faculty pursuing fundamental, mechanistic questions broadly relevant to one or more of the following scientific priority areas: Immunotherapy, Precision Oncology, Data Science, or Viruses and Vaccines. We interpret these areas broadly and welcome applicants whose fundamental research connects to them in any way . This position will include generous startup funds, an endowed chair, funding for internal and external collaborations, and resources to support an additional, separate faculty recruitment for the Division . This search is directed toward Associate and Full Professors, or equivalent ranks. Appointment will be made at the rank of full-time Associate or Full Professor, with primary appointment in the Basic Sciences Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. An adjunct appointment may be considered, if appropriate, with other Divisions at Fred Hutch and at a department at the University of Washington. Qualifications Candidates must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). They must have experience as an independent research investigator (lab‑based or office‑based), as well as expertise and interest in scientific areas relevant to the mission of the Basic Sciences Division and Fred Hutch. The candidate should have a demonstrated track record in obtaining funding and leading an innovative research group. Applications received by December 31 st , 2026 will be guaranteed consideration. The annual base salary range for this position is from $210,413 to $300,000 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank and from $239,714 to $450,000 for faculty hired at the Full Professor rank. Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. Faculty without credited time in rank will generally start at the entry rate for their relevant specialty and rank. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and sign‑on bonus.Other compensation associated with this position may include an Administrative Supplement (ADS) in addition to base pay.
