Registered Nurse Emergency Room

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from low to high acuity cases including stroke, STEMI, trauma, behavioral health, and critically ill patients. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center environment. The nurse must possess strong communication skills, be flexible with scheduling including weekends and holidays, and hold all required certifications. At least 2 years of relevant experience and proficiency in Epic charting are required. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions in the ER setting.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff.
• Manage emergency situations including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health crises.
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic electronic medical records.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and care procedures.
• Participate in unit float assignments as required.
• Adhere to hospital policies including infection control, safety standards, and patient privacy.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar high-acuity emergency department.
• Additional certifications related to emergency nursing or critical care.

• Work includes weekends and holidays; flexibility is highly encouraged.
• Float assignments required within unit or facility.
• Strict dress code: any scrub color allowed except reddish orange.
• Local candidates not accepted; relocation or travel restrictions apply.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and is subject to approval.

• Shift options include 3 or 4 twelve-hour day shifts per week.
• Guaranteed minimum of 60 hours per two-week pay period.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs and nurse availability.
