Registered Nurse Emergency Room

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from low to high acuity cases including stroke, STEMI, trauma, behavioral health, and critically ill patients. This role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center environment. The nurse must maintain certifications such as ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC, and be proficient with Epic electronic medical records. Flexibility for weekend and holiday shifts is required. Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor patient conditions in the ER setting.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff.
• Manage care for patients with a wide range of acuity including trauma, stroke, STEMI, behavioral health, and critical illness.
• Document patient care and clinical data accurately using Epic electronic medical records.
• Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively.
• Participate in unit float assignments as required.
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications and hospital policies.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.

• Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar high-acuity emergency department.
• Additional specialty certifications related to emergency nursing or critical care.
• Comfort working with behavioral health and acute care boarding patients.

• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and float between units as needed.
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with candidate submittal and flexibility is highly encouraged.
• Scrub color restrictions apply: no reddish orange permitted.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department environment.

• Shifts available: 3x12 or 4x12 hour day shifts.
• Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week pay period.
• Schedule includes weekend and holiday coverage requirements.
