Estate Planning Attorney
$90k - $125kBlue Mahoe Law
Our expanding law firm is looking for an experienced estate planning attorney. We require a highly analytical applicant with excellent negotiation and organizational abilities who is available to work full-time. You will prepare documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney as our estate planning attorney. This role carries a great deal of responsibility and seeks to eliminate questions regarding how an estate should be managed. There is no billable-hour requirement in this role. We measure our attorneys by the quality of their work and the loyalty of their clients, not by a number on a timesheet. At Blue Mahoe, PLLC, the clients are already coming through the door. What we need is an attorney who will take care of them beautifully: draft the plan, sit across the table and explain it in plain English, and own the matter from the first handshake to the signing ceremony. If you want to build a serious estate planning practice — sophisticated work, real client relationships, and room to grow — without carrying the risk and overhead of firm ownership, this is that seat. Responsibilities: • What You'll Do This is a high-growth opportunity for an attorney who wants to build an exceptional legal career without the pressure, risk, or stress of firm ownership. You will have access to the firm's systems, resources, and client flow, allowing you to focus on what you do best: serving clients at a high level and expanding your expertise. This is a client-facing, production-oriented role. You will manage estate planning matters from start to finish, build strong client relationships, and contribute directly to the success of the firm. And to say it plainly, because it matters: there is no billable-hour requirement here. You will not spend your evenings reconstructing time entries or shaving a matter to fit a target. You will spend them however you like, because your work is judged on whether the plan is right and the client is well served. As the firm grows, so does this role. You will have the opportunity to deepen your estate planning practice, serve clients with increasingly complex needs, and expand into related practice areas where that aligns with your professional goals. Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents — including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related instruments Conduct client consultations and guide clients through the estate planning process from first meeting through signing Draft estate planning documents; and advise clients on plans for incapacity Discuss strategies with clients for long-term care, insurance, and distributing assets Manage estate planning matters from initial engagement through completion, owning deadlines and outcomes Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant client files Communicate proactively with clients so no one ever has to wonder where their matter stands Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent, high-level legal services Stay current on estate planning laws, regulations, and best practices Identify opportunities to improve the client experience and support firm growth Conduct workshops and seminars to educate the community Assist with training or mentoring team members as opportunities arise Qualifications: • Great communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required • Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Experience at a legal firm working on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years is required Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 yearly • This is a high-growth opportunity for an attorney who wants to build an exceptional legal career without the pressure, risk, or stress of firm ownership.
