The Support Specialist II assists students and other classroom staff to promote a safe and healthy environment for learning within our school. Key Responsibilities Provide support for students with autism and related disabilities. Assist classroom staff in creating a safe and healthy learning environment. Maintain required certifications for crisis management, safety care, PMT, First Aid and CPR as applicable. Meet fidelity measures, achieving satisfactory performance in at least 75% of assessed categories for student programming implementation. Fulfill any other specific program requirements. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Employment as a Student Support Specialist I or comparable position required, or combination of education and experience that is equivalent. Ability to obtain and maintain relevant certifications within six months of appointment. Immediate availability to start. Special Requirements Obtain and maintain certification in the relevant crisis management procedures implemented by the program to which they are assigned (e.g., Safety Care or PMT) within six months. Complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certification. Achieve satisfactory criteria in 75% or more of assessed categories pertaining to student programming implementation.
