Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 36 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <90 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - MaineHealth.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Tertiary and teaching hospital experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred.

Required Credentials: NRP required for NICU coverage.

Special Requests: Travel pairs are not accepted. Only approved requested time off documented in the contract is guaranteed. The facility cannot guarantee additional schedule requests, specific shifts, weekends off, or time off outside of the approved contractual RTO.

Unit Details: Covers the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs. Patient ratios: acute 1:25, critical 1:8. Equipment includes Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. On-call required; approximately one call shift per month, or as required by the department. Call requirements include 2 hours for the oncoming shift.

Floating Requirements: Float as an RRT to some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care areas.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)
