Engineer

Overview Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non‑routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Salary: $60,000- $105,000/yr DOE Responsibilities Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus Have the ability to work on well‑defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols Leads and assigns the work of others when needed Analytical/technical knowledge provides a marked impact on overall laboratory technical capabilities and services Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory, works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis Defined work experience has impact on the day‑to‑day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge. Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions. Skills / Qualifications Working knowledge of laboratory safety Must possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a science or testing related field Must have a minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post‑degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications Must possess an demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business Must possess an in‑depth understanding of testing concepts Must analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed Must possess strong computer skills Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
