Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Title: RN - ED Location: Charlotte North Carolina 28203 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36 Shift Information: 1900-0700 Clinical Interviewing- Yes On Call, Call Back Requirements: None Weekend Rotation: EOW Holiday Requirements: 75% of holidays required Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) About Facility: 874 Licensed beds Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital Chest Pain Center Stroke Center Magnet Designated Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit Unit Information: Beds: 43 ED Beds and 20 boarding beds Minimum Years of Experience required: ED RN: 2 years ED exp (Resource Team) Med/Tele RN: 2 years Med/Tele exp (Resource Team) Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team) Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: *Travelers will most often be hired as Med/Tele RN to cover ED Holds* Trauma level 1 – GSW, Stabbing, MVA, Falls, Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, Cardiac Cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD Patient Ratios: *Travelers will most often be hired as Med/Tele RN to cover ED Holds* RN : 1:5 max (acuity dependent) CNA : 1:7 Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: ED RN: Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; Preferred: TNCC Med/Tele RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement) Skills required: ED RN: Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, blood administration, etc. Med/Tele RN: General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF Support within the Department: CNA – ratios vary Receptionist/HUC Charge nurse, 24/7 – may or may not have patients Phlebotomy – peripheral blood draws only IV/VAT Team Resource Nurse – as available RT, 24/7 Hospitalist, 24/7 Intensivist, 24/7 Telemetry monitoring/tech: No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips Floating: Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) Orientation (facility and unit): NEO 2 days departmental Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other No call for travelers Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours Other notes: Scrub Color: Navy Parking: Free 26-27392(M) About TalentBurst, Inc TalentBurst Health & Life Sciences is an established provider of healthcare workforce solutions, servicing healthcare facilities across the United States for over 15 years.
