Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Pre-Op and PACU/Recovery Unit RNs!

Job Description:


- Join a dynamic team in our Pre-Op and PACU/Recovery combined unit.
- Work 3 shifts on Friday to Sunday evenings (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM).
- Candidates must possess prior Pre-Op and PACU experience.
- No first-time travelers, please; proficiency in EPIC system required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in ER, ICU, or PACU is essential.

Unit Highlights:


- All nurses are cross-trained in Pre-Op and PACU settings.
- 12-hour shifts: 5:00 AM start in Pre-Op; 8:00/9:00/10:00 AM start in PACU on weekdays.
- Weekend staffing includes 4 RNs, with varied start times.
- Call duty is mandatory: 2-3 shifts per month, including weekdays and weekends.
- Average patient census ranges from 35 to 50, with 12 rooms and 24 beds available.

Patient Care:


- Care for a diverse patient population: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Limited pediatrics; primary demographic between 30s to 100s.
- May float to outpatient ortho surgery or same-day surgery center on rare occasions.

Essential Certifications/Experience:


- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required.
- Capable of dysrhythmia recognition/management, airway assessment, and IV initiation.
- Experience in pain assessment and management.

Preferred Skills/Experience:


- Familiarity with various surgical procedures, including bariatrics, neuro, and ortho.
- Experience with medications including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, and IV vasopressors.
- Proficiency in various monitoring techniques, including End-Tidal CO2 and blood product administration.
