Sheet Metal TechnicianThis role focuses on sheet metal and duct installation for a large facility expansion project in Mason, OH. You will work on HVAC-related sheet metal systems, interpreting blueprints and using a full range of hand and power tools to install ductwork safely and efficiently at a journeyman level.ResponsibilitiesInstall sheet metal ductwork and related HVAC components for a facility expansion project in Mason, OH.Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to determine layout, measurements, and installation requirements.Measure, cut, assemble, and secure sheet metal using appropriate hand tools and cordless power tools.Use and properly secure body harnesses and retractable fall protection when working at heights.Follow OSHA safety standards at all times, including proper use of PPE such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, high-visibility gear, cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses.Maintain and use basic sheet metal tools including clamps, shears, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and related equipment.Collaborate with other technicians and trades on-site to coordinate installation activities and meet project timelines.Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient job site.Perform quality checks on installed ductwork to ensure proper fit, alignment, and compliance with project specifications.Adhere to site rules and policies, including successful completion of required screenings and compliance with safety protocols.Essential SkillsJourneyman-level experience as a sheet metal technician.Proven experience in sheet metal and ductwork installation for HVAC systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.OSHA 10 certification or higher.Proficient use of cordless drills and basic sheet metal tools such as clamps, shears, pliers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.Ability to work safely with body harnesses and retractable fall protection systems.Capability to work full-time on a structured schedule, including extended shifts.Ability to pass a clean drug test.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on large industrial or commercial expansion projects.Experience in HVAC-related installations and duct systems.Comfort working in a fast-paced construction environment with other trades.Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.Reliability and punctuality in adhering to project schedules.Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Why Work Here?You will join a long-term project that offers steady work, opportunities for overtime, and a consistent schedule. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts plus one 8-hour shift on Fridays, with overtime opportunities available. You will work in an active industrial construction environment, using cordless drills and a full range of sheet metal hand tools. Personal protective equipment is required at all times, including a type 2 hard hat, body harness with retractable lanyard for fall protection, steel-toed boots, high-visibility clothing, cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses. The work is physically demanding, performed in varying weather and site conditions, and requires strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and site protocols.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Mason, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
