Summary:This is a full-time, salaried position for an experienced industry professional to join our IT Team. The IT Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains hardware and software components; installs and configures equipment; and provides technical support across the organization. This role works closely with departments and staff at every level-listening to their technical needs and implementing effective IT solutions to resolve issues quickly and reliably.Dixie Tech is a public technical college housed on a new, state-of-the-art campus in St. George, Utah. The College offers 30 Council on Occupational Education accredited programs that provide certifications in high-demand, high-paying professions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform computer imaging, staging, and installationTroubleshoot hardware and software issuesRepair or replace damaged hardwareReconfigure computers to support compatible softwareManage IT assets, including inventory control requirementsAssist with onboarding student and staff email and computer accountsAssist with help desk calls, room scheduling, and IT support ticketsPurchase IT supplies and equipment for the College in accordance with the Purchasing Card and Procurement PoliciesComply with all Dixie Tech policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedReports to the Campus IT ManagerRequirements and Qualifications:Associate 's degree or industry-recognized certification requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent required3 years of IT experience preferredCompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification preferredExperience troubleshooting systemsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (G Suite)Strong working knowledge of macOS and Windows operating systemsExperience using large language models (LLMs) and other AI tools to increase productivity and efficiency preferredStrong communication and presentation skillsMaintains a high level of professionalismAbility to communicate with students, staff, and colleagues; read academic texts and materials, student papers, etc.; operate a personal computer and audio-visual equipment; stand or sit for one to three hours at a time; drive to off-site meetings, conferences, or to observe student interns; and move around campus for classes and meetings.The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less.
